On the workbench waiting to be based

Connoisseur Miniatures Fuzzy Wuzzy Warriors awaiting basing - brave and formidable enemy for the Imperials!

Well for those of you thinking that I am simply ignoring the Sudan for areas of other interest within my wargaming battles you are only partially correct.

I have been very much enjoying the Ancients gaming in recent times as well as some excellent Marlburian Black Powder games and still building up my Napoleonic 1805-07 project for General D'Armee.

However I did take out a few trays of figures recently which are due for basing and readiness for battles down the track...

Some British, maybe even New South Wales battery for some Australian  gunners
Some more Hadendowah cavalry and foot to help add some more bases to the masses
These have been sitting in draws for some time however I'm in the mood to get them based and on the table soon for a few scenario play tests in coming months.

A younger Ben, Mike and Steve push around some lead

Still have a few campaign updates to share in coming weeks as well.

The rules are certainly still available so drop me a line and I can [pass on more details.

All the best

  1. All the hard work is already done Carlo so get basing and add them to your already huge and wonderful collection.
    Cheers,
    Pat.

    1. Thanks Pat - sometimes the other distractions in the hobby can make it hard to get back to this one and as you can see from past games, there is no quick set-up for the Sudan! Enjoying your blog posts by the way.

  2. Nice to see you're still in the Sudan, Carlo. You might like to know the NSW battalion had their first encounters with the enemy in my campaign and acquitted themselves well - naturally!

    1. Thank you very much Dave - not quite back all the way yet as I do want to get some scenarios tested. Need to discuss with you about a couple of ideas popping around in my head so stay tuned.

  4. Hi Carlo. Is the campaign supplement a dead dodo now or is it still to be published at some point. Legendary Wargames used SotS for its inaugural game at our new purpose built lodge last week, and we all had a great game. A new website/blog is coming in the next few weeks and will have a brief game report and piccies. Keeep Sudaning.

    1. That is fantastic news and cant wait to see the blog and read the report. Absolutely not dead in the water just on the continual back burner at present as I juggle work, faily and hobby in the best way I can. Lots of great ideas to pit down on paper but struggling to find the time. It will DEFINITELY happen though.

  5. Always intrigued to see the work in progress. Where did you get the Connoisseur figures? Or have they been on the shelf for years? They might be older than me!!! Any scenario/campaign books in the pipeline?

    1. Hi Gerry, apologies for the delay in replying as I have moderation on this blog due to some bots in the past inviting me to naughty places of little interest! The Connoisseur figures were bought in a bulk lot from Chris Cornwall when he was getting out of selling the range many, many years ago with additional items purchased through Bicorne etc. Would love to get some more. Older than you? Lets say yes ;^0
Scenario books are absolutely the plan but as mentioned above to WB it is proving a task.
